Belle's BIO

Belle Amatt is a Lecturer in Naturopathic Nutrition, 1-1 Nutrition coach and nutrition event host who has been working in the world of nutrition for many years. Specialising in Gut Health, Gut-Brain Connection, and Longevity Belle has worked with many clients to change their thoughts and behaviours around food. Having worked on Child Obesity projects, within an Eating Disorders Clinic and on fasting retreat centres abroad Belle has a wealth of experience in the delicate area of challenging our inner dialogue in order to make positive changes.

She believes that enhancing our health outcomes requires more than changing the diet. The journey towards optimal health requires us to consider our habits, rituals and our self-belief. As human beings we are fine tuned to create habits and with the right support, we can unpick unhealthy habits and replace them with ones which nourish both body and soul.

In this Zoom workshop we will be discussing the obstacles which we, as humans, create in the often sensitive area of ‘eating habits’.

The body has an incredible interplay of appetite hormones, neuropeptides and stretch receptors which theoretically should tell us when to start and to stop eating. However, our emotions can easily over-ride these physical messaging systems leading to over-eating, consuming highly palatable (rich in fats and sugar) foods in search of a dopamine hit or constant snacking. Such consistent habits can then lead to a resistance to change.

For the first hour of our webinar, we will be talking through commonly asked questions such as:

Why do I crave certain food?

Is food addictive?

Can I learn to curb a craving?

How can I learn to love eating a healthy diet?

We will also be challenging unhealthy dialogue such as ‘I am lazy’ or ‘I am greedy’, feelings which will be drivers of unhealthy eating patterns. How can be reframe this type of inner self talk in order to work on will power and purpose.

In the final 30 minutes, we will open the workshop up to questions from participants in order to gain some helpful insights from David’s expertise in this field.
