Advanced sleep webinar for nutritional therapists
Wednesday 25 November 2026 | 1–2pm | Online via Zoom
Quality sleep is essential for optimal health and its importance spans beyond solving tiredness and fatigue.
From cognitive function, memory consolidation, the brain’s natural maintenance processes to appetite control and glucose metabolism, sleep lies at the heart of health.
So as practitioners, we seek to explore the contributing factors to sleep disruption. In this presentation we focus our attention on sleep disruption as a common factor for women and especially prevalent during the menopause transition, and we dive into growing research which explores the relationship between sleep, Alzheimer’s disease pathology and long-term brain health.
In this webinar, we will deep dive into the physiology connecting menopause, sleep and the ageing brain, alongside the evidence for targeted nutritional and supplemental support.
What we’ll explore
Menopause, hormones and sleep
How changing oestrogen and progesterone levels influence thermoregulation, neurotransmission, sleep architecture and cognitive function, including the mechanisms that may contribute to sleep disruption during the menopause transition.
Sleep and Alzheimer’s disease
The science behind deep slow-wave sleep, memory consolidation, amyloid-beta, tau pathology and the brain’s waste-clearance systems. We’ll examine the emerging evidence linking sleep disturbances with neurodegeneration, distinguishing established findings from current hypotheses.
Nutritional and supplemental support
A research-led review of selected nutrients and botanicals used to support sleep, including their proposed mechanisms of action, human clinical evidence and limitations. We’ll consider what the research demonstrates, where evidence remains preliminary, and the distinction between improving sleep and influencing Alzheimer’s disease risk.
Clinical application
Using case-based discussion, we’ll connect the underlying physiology with practical nutritional assessment and evidence-informed approaches to supporting sleep and long-term brain health.
Who is this for?
