The Blue Zones 10 Day Health Challenge Tickets | Eventbrite

What makes us live well into later years? Is it all about genetics or can we really take the reigns on our own health?

Well let’s find out. Give my 10 day challenge a go. Make some changes, repetitively over 10 days and assess how different you feel. Ten days is enough time to establish new habits but not too long to be an unachievable challenge. Plus, you will be invited into a Private Facebook Group in which I will be offering daily advice, extra recipe ideas and motivation. This group offers the 'tribe' we all require when establishing a new way to live our lives.

You will gain access (on the Events Page of Eventbrite) to:

• Recipes

• Meal planner

• Structured Checklist to keep you on track

• Health Challenge Explained

The cost is just £25 for the whole experience (which you will save on wine:)

What are the Blue Zones?

What began as a National Geographic expedition, led by Dan Buettner, to uncover the secrets of longevity, evolved into the discovery of the 5 places around the world where people consistently live over 100 years old, dubbed the Blue Zones.

The Blue Zones:

1. Barbagia region of Sardinia – Mountainous highlands of inner Sardinia with the world’s highest concentration of male centenarians.

2. Ikaria, Greece – Aegean Island with one of the world’s lowest rates of middle age mortality and the lowest rates of dementia.

3. Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica – World’s lowest rates of middle age mortality, second highest concentration of male centenarians.

4. Seventh Day Adventists – Highest concentration is around Loma Linda, California. They live 10 years longer than their North American counterparts.

5. Okinawa, Japan – Females over 70 are the longest-lived population in the world.

Buettner and his team of demographers, scientist and anthropologists were able to distil the evidence-based common denominators of these Blue Zones into 9 commonalities that they call the Power 9.

Using these 9 points of interest, in this Blue Zones challenge I have moderated them to offer a set of 9 self-care disciplines. The word ‘disciplines’ may sound like ‘regulations’ or ‘controls’. But do not let this put you off. Discipline is a positive thing.

It keeps us focused, with the ultimate goal being that if we do the same things repetitively over a 10 day period then these disciplines become a welcome part of our lifestyle.

The 9 self-care disciplines involve exercise and immune-boosting plant-based eating alongside mental health techniques such as a focus on belonging, community and kindness, all so important in getting us through this crazy pandemic. We will engage with these areas of the world in which people has established great stress resilience, self-belief and live with great consideration for family and friends.

What will you gain from this 10 day experience:

With each cleanse and health challenge I run, participants report a whole host of benefits, unique to the individual. These have included:

Better mental focus

Improved sense of self

Weight Loss

Enhanced energy

Greater self-esteem

Feeling and looking more youthful

A love of plant-based eating

Renewed joy in exercise

Better bowel function

Finding their 'tribe' (in the form of the Cleanse Community group which you will become a part of)

..... the list goes on.

This cleanse is as much about happiness as nutrition.
